Website image sourcing
One of the biggest issues when creating a website is the images used on your web pages. There is no doubt that good quality photos make a big difference but what if you don't have any suitable photos?

We can access 1,000,000's of stock photos at very low costs via our image library accounts.
All images are 'royalty free', in other words they can be legally used for web pages (and print) as long as the terms of hire are adhered to
Subject matter includes:
- people
- animals
- plants
- work
- sports
- scenes
- trades
- backgrounds
- world
- scenarios
- abstract
There's an image for everything and everyone so no excuse for a bland old page of text
Legal
You may have concerns about the legal issues when publishing a website - we can help and advise through our legal experts. Probably the most common question is about images, simple - if you (or an employee) did not take the photo or you do not have a written usage agreement - you can't use it!
for example...
- Google images
No - you can't use them
- The image was given to me
No - get written permission
- I was sent a CD of images
No - get written permission
- I found an image on FlickR
yes - but check if there is a creative commons/copyright agreement
- My photographer sent me the image
yes -
but let him/her know in writing how you propose to use the image
Basically (and in accordance with ‘first owner of copyright’ - Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988) the image belongs to the originator even if it appears on a free to view website or it was a gift - YOU NEED WRITTEN PERMISSION TO PUBLISH AN IMAGE ON A WEBSITE. If you supply an image we assume permissions are in place |
